getting closer to the start date..................

On 12-26-2010 we received a wonderful gift, SNOW! To me it was the perfect end to a great year. Time that we all spent together because we couldn't go anywhere. It was nice as I was standing at the sink, one of my favorite places to think or drift off dreaming; to look out and see this beautiful snow. I have been on vacation this week and have been doing somethings around the house to go into the New Year right. Hoping to have more time this year with friends and family filling the kitchen with laughter and love.

not to much going on...............

Still looking forward to my goal for 2011. I have been somewhat preparing already. For the past two weeks I think I have fixed most meals at home, and really trying to plan the meals. Life is just so much easier that way.
Saturday I spent most of my day in the kitchen and actually enjoyed it. Sound funny? I made homemade sauce for the Lasagna that I made Saturday evening. I made homemade Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls that were OOO so good! While *piddling* around the house and in the kitchen I listened to one of my favorite Cd's by Hillsong United and had a nice cup of Pumpkin Spiced hot tea, just love day's like that. I didn't even get dressed until 5 P.M., and the only reason I did that was because I forgot the cheddar cheese for the Garlic Cheese Biscuits I had planned on making. So, Saturday was a blessing.

the new table...................

I keep thinking of thing's to add to my updated update, haha!

So, we were wanting a new table for the kitchen and we found one. It's actually a used table that my friend Robin's grandmother had. We love it and it is nice to have a table big enough for all five of us to actually sit around. Can't wait to have Robin over for a meal!

blogging worls update's..........................

WOW, how easy is it to get so side tracked and not have time to blog. Maybe it's just making time to blog. Who knows. But, all is well here at Terri's Table. We are getting settled into new routine's of our season in life and getting on with the show.
I wanted to share some photo's that I took from the craft cell group that I attend. Sonja (cell leader and friend) knowing that it was my birthday put a goody bag together for me and in it was a magazine. Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade Magazine, the September-October 2010 edition. Sonja made a recipe from the magazine and served it to our cell group and it was so YUMMY that I thought I would share with everyone. It's simple and "it's semi-homemade, LOL!

Baby Banana Bites

1 Box of Vanilla Wafers
Butterscotch prepared pudding
banana's
cool whip
pumpkin spice

on a vanilla wafer, top with 1 tablespoon butterscotch pudding, 1 banana slice, 1 tablespoon cool whip. Repeat until you have made all that you will need. Once you are done, sprinkle some pumpkin spice on them and they are ready to serve.

So quick and so easy and soooooo good!

Well, this is all I have for now. looking forward to getting back into the blogging world and counting down the months to the 2011 challenge!

love to all,

happy 49th to my crazy loving husband...........................

We celebrated Mike's birthday by going out to dinner on Saturday evening with our good friends, The Kivett's. We went to one of Mike's favorite places in town Croaker's. Croaker's is a local place serving mostly seafood. Sunday we attended church and came home and just hung out together as a family and then once again, we all went out to dinner! WHAT? Yes, we went to Spaghetti Eddy's, another local place here that serves Italian. My dear friend Sonja made Mike's birthday cake, thank you SweetCakes. Sonja made a red velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting, SO GOOD!

simple saturday's.........................

Nothing much going on this morning. I did get up at 5:30 a.m. because of our loud obnoxious cat! She is deaf and very loud when she meow's, and she loves to come in our room and knock things off, ANYTHING that is in her way. So, I got up to get her off then climbed back into bed then the other cat, Jasper, started in. He was meowing because he wanted out. He has a very distinct meow when he wants out. Not one that you can block out, it can be very annoying. After all that and I get up to let Jasper out, here comes Bently (the pug) he wants out. By now I decide to start the coffee. Forget going back to bed, I'm up for the day.

I left early this morning to try and sneak away to go pick up Mike's birthday cake at my friend Sonja's who makes wonderful cakes, aka SweetCakes (for now). I got caught and told him I was going to get a paper. I went to Walmart then to the ATM drive-thru then to Sonja's and last stop was Panera for a breakfast sandwich. I did get called to see where I was that I couldn't find a paper,,,haha! While trying to sneak the cake in I got caught! So, I revealed it to him. A red velvet cake with cream cheeses icing. YUMMMY!!! Can't wait to try it. We will have to wait until tomorrow, that is his birthday.

Enjoyed my coffee this morning while watching the Food Network and just relaxing. The rest of the morning I will just be what I call "Piddling Around" the house. Making the bed running the vacum and picking up a little. No major cleaning today. We will be going to Croacker's for dinner tonight meeting some friends for Mike's kind of surprise dinner at his favorite place. Nothing else much going on. I like it like that!!!

Simply Satisfied,

freezer is coming back........

Okie Dokie! So, we were going to sale our freezer because for one it was taking up to much space in the kitchen and we needed the money. Well, it didn't sell (action) in the yard sale (an event) we had, so I was going to put it on Craig's List. I think we are now thinking that it is going to stay. I kind of miss it! I will be making space back in the kitchen for it. Plus with this new challenge since we will be eating more "HOME COOKED" meals, we will need it, right? Yes, we will! Okay so welcome home freezer!

Kitchen TO DO for today:
Cleaning out the tools/utensils that are in the kitchen. Have I used them? Will I use them, seriously?

Have an awesome Saturday!

rules of this plan.................

RULES/GUIDELINES
#1. No buying any new or used cookbooks as well as printing any on the Internet!

#2. Eating Out:
Date night's-On date night's we can eat out once a month. Date night's usually happen once a week.
Limited to once a month this includes the family except for when they go out to eat on their dime.
Special occasions like when someone invites for a birthday etc....
       Road trips and vacation's

#3. Does this include all three meals? No, I will keep this to the evening meals and weekends breakfast at
      home.

This is all I can think of for now..........

here we go.......

Day 1- Made a list of topics that I want to share on this blog. Sat up the blog. Getting a little excited about doing this.

We are going to TRY and eat more dinner's at home, home cooked not so much processed box cooking. Since I love collecting cookbook's I thought it would be a grand idea to go through them and actually try to put them to use, well a little more than I have before. I will not purchase anymore cookbooks nor will I be printing new recipe's off any websites. That is part of the goal, is to use what I have already. I have a recipe fetish!!!! Guess it could be worse.
